1. Plan in advance

Always plan your makeup for your big day by booking a trial with your make up artist. She/he will go through colour choices and styles. That way you can be confident and happy with your makeup choices on the day.

2. Get inspired!

Make sure your hair and makeup compliment your wedding dress style. Take inspiration from Hollywood icons past and present, fashion/makeup blogs and wedding magazines.

3. Think quality

When it comes to your makeup think quality not quantity. Most successful looks focus on one feature such as eyes or lips. Skin bronzer and brows should also compliment.

4. Primer

Make sure a primer is used underneath your makeup on the day, this will even out skin tone, fill in open pores and fine lines and help your makeup to stay looking perfect all day long. MACs prep & prime skin base is a great choice as it’s super lightweight and gives a beautiful glow to the skin.

5. Eyebrows

Your eyebrows frame your face so it’s really worth getting your brows shaped for the day. But if waxing or threading is your idea of torture then a brow pencil is a must have. MACs velvet brow pencils are an amazing pencil to powder finish so your brows still look natural but defined.

6. Topping up

The two must-have products to carry with you on the day are powder and lipstick, these are the only things you may need to top up. I would recommend MACs blot powder as it gets rid of oil and shine but does not have any texture or colour so you can top up as much as you like without having a heavy powder look on the skin. This product will be great to pop on just before you get your pictures taken.

With all the eating, drinking and celebrating the one thing that’s bound to come off is lipstick. Always use lip liner to outline the lips as this helps to hold the lipstick on, also a long wearing lipstick or lip stain would be a better choice then a gloss as it’s not sticky and will last much longer. I would recommend MACs prolongwear lipsticks. They come in a wide variety of colours and last for up to 8 hours on the lip.
